Scarcer Than Hen’s Teeth- Bliss Model B for Sale

I once said that used Townsend machines were scarcer than hen’s teeth. Well, here is one that is even scarcer (is that a word). I currently have a Bliss, made by Fraser years ago. It is the Model B machine that allows the user to cut wide strips(around 2″ wide) for braiding and weaving. This machine is old but I had it updated by the Fraser Company recently and now it is ready to go to a new home. It has a new size 1 cutter head, new gears and a new crank handle and retaining nut. With this machine you can also use other sizes of cutter heads for rug work. It takes size 1 through size 8 cutter heads and we have them all in stock.

I also have an almost brand new Bliss Model A in the speckled Gold color for sale. This lady traded it in to us for one of our Ault machines. FREE Saturday Rug Hook-in At Ault’s

Next saturday is our next free hook-in. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and runs till every one leaves (usually around 4:0o or before). You can bring a project to work on or purchase materials here in the store. There is a SUBWAY restaurant across the street. Our spring pricing is still going on for wool. We currently have wool for $16.00 and $20.00 per yard. Of course, this is all new wool and almost 100% of it is as-is pattern wool. We have very few solid colors since most of our customers do primitive and folk art rugs.

Ault’s Big Winter Sale-February 16, 2013

We will be closed a few days in February but we still answer the phone (419-347-9957) and reply to email correspondence at Larry.ault@gmail.com . The BIG sale date is February 16, 2013. We have ready to hook wool by the yard as low as $16.00, lots of beautiful Native American Jewelry at “Sell Today” prices, some used rug hooking equipment that we have taken in on trade, rug hooking patterns and kits that are priced to move quickly, a few primitive home decor items and about 100 candles at $10.00 per quart size jar.

Why are these items priced so reasonably you ask. A good friend who was a folk art and primitive rug hooker past away recently. We have her wools, patterns, candles and jewelry here in the store on consignment. He husband told us to price it to sell. So, we did.

Used Townsend For Sale-Rare As Hen’s Teeth

How often do you hear of a used Townsend machine for sale? Hardly ever!!! We have a very nice used Townsend here in the shop today. We originally sold the machine and cutter heads to one of our great customers. She is no longer hooking so we have the machine here on consignment. The machine and cutter heads are in very nice condition.

If you are interested in getting a Townsend this is almost a once-in-a-lifetime deal. The machine has sizes 4, 5 ,6 ,8, 8.5, 9 and 10 cutter heads. Any or all of these cutter heads are available as a package sale or individual units. The machine with one cutter head is $350.00 plus shipping. If you purchase the entire lot the price is $950.00 plus $20.00 shipping.

Price Increase Coming on 1-1-2013 (Ault’s Universal Cutter Heads)

We have to increase the price of the Universal Cutter head for the Ault’s Wool Fabric Cutting machine. Increased production costs from our supplier were, of course, passed on to us several months ago. We did not increase our cutter head price at that time but we should have. Now, we find we cannot continue to sell the cutter heads for $124.95. The new price is $144.95 but this is still less expensive than a similar product from our competitor.

If you plan to add to the supply of cutter heads you have, now is a great time to beat the price increase. Gently Used Wool Fabric Cutters Still Needed

I can tell the Holiday season is just around the corner. We are getting more requests for used wool fabric cutting machines. Currently I am down to one Rigby H and one Fraser 500.

If you have a rug hooking cutting machine that you are not using or want to trade in to us, now is a great time to respond. Here is how we handle trade-ins or purchases of use machines.

Call my cell at 419.347.9957 and tell me about your used machine. I will ask a couple questions about model,condition and maybe the paint color and then you can decide if you want to sell us your used machine. You send it to us and we send you a check for the amount we agreed upon.

We manufacture our own wool fabric cutter, our own frames and floor stands and our proprietary rug hooks with a variety of sizes and shapes of handles. We also make a bent hook for those who want to try a different hooking style.

Like-New Fraser Wool Fabric Cutters For Rug Hooking

They say it pays to advertise. About two months ago (September 2102) I blogged that we needed some used wool fabric cutters. Said we would take them in on trade for our Ault’s Machine or purchase from the owner. Well, we shook loose some Fraser Machines that are in very nice condition. I currently have two of those machines left. One of them is 2 years old and the other one is 4 years old. They look and work like new.

Our demand here at Ault’s for used wool fabric cutters (Fraser and Rigby) is greater than we can currently supply. Many new rug hookers do not want to spend big money for a cutter until they are sure this is a hobby for them. We always take used machines in either on consignment, purchase or as a trade-in on our Ault’s Wool Fabric Cutting machine.
